A note to our readers...

Thank you very much indeed for visiting our website. So far, we have inputted just over 50,000 individuals from the Falls , the Shankill, St Annes, Windsor and Smithfield wards in our database for the census year of 1911. We also have a smaller number of individual entries from 1901.

Given the population of Belfast in 1911, there is a roughly one-in-eight chance (across the city as a whole) of finding a particular ancestor at this stage of the development of the project. However, we continue to expand and hope to extend our coverage still further.

The assumed house numbers for 1901 in the database are the numbers we found on form B of that census, and may not necessarily coincide with the actual house number. Remember also that people moved frequently in early 20thC Belfast, usually over short distances, sometimes along the same street or into a neighbouring street.
