Belfast Family and Community History is a charitable organisation that brings history and heritage to the community.
Its particular focus is making the census returns for Belfast in 1901and 1911 accessible to the wider public.
BelFam also provides workshops and presentations for local history and heritage groups, community organisations and women's groups.

The census information can be used to help build a family tree, but more importantly perhaps to get an intimate view of the lives of grandparents, great grandparents and other ancestors in the Edwardian era, that is, before the Great War and before Partition. The site can also be exploited to build street, neighbourhood and community histories.
We are all naturally interested in our families and our kinfolk, So, in the first instance, this site can be used by individuals interested in tracing their ancestors. It is also used by family, local and national historians and by teachers and students engaged in studies of their local neighbourhood or community
The Photo Gallery below shows images from the launch of the BelFam project and the community workshop events.
